Shop Laborer

Job Summary: How would you like to join a family-owned company with over 800 employees and 30 locations? We are looking for multiple Shop Laborers to join a growing team. The Shop Laborers will produce complete line of wire rope assemblies. Responsibilities include:

• Interpret instructions and specifications of Fab Tickets along with special drawings or blueprints
• Calculate wire rope cut lengths, fitting requirements and select appropriate equipment to produce all varieties of wire rope assemblies
• Setup, operate, adjust, and maintain all wire rope production machines and equipment
• Write/attach proper tags/labels to products; locate appropriate capacity tables

Location: Granite City, IL
Position type: Full time, Evaluation Hire
Pay: $19/hr

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Trade school or military experience a plus
• Experience in rigging and lifting preferred
• Ability to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills
• Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
