Learn Japanese at Caseyville Library

Learn Japanese with language expert, Yoko Seto. Drop in at any date to learn the basics. We will cover greetings and basic language skills, Japanese ABCs, language history and philosophy, and Japanese socio-cultural learning. Each class will be on the first and third Saturday of the month from 11am to 12pm. Each month we will emphasize a different aspect of Japanese culture that corresponds with that time of year. ALL AGES WELCOME!
In January, we will discuss the most significant event for Japanese people, the new year! For February?s lessons, we will talk about the festival of Setsubun, which focuses on driving out evil spirits. In March, the emphasis will be on Hinamatsuri, the festival of dolls.
Yoko Seto is a professional linguistics expert and educator with 40 years of experience. She is fluent in over 20 languages. Now that she has moved to the area, she wants to share her knowledge and passion for Japanese culture and language learning with the Caseyville community.
