DESCRIPTION:The Veterans Monument at Collinsville High School will be officially dedicated in a ceremony on Tuesday\, September 11\, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in front of the school.\n\nThe public is encouraged to attend. If it rains\, the event will be moved into the auditorium. Refreshments will be served.\n\nThe monument is the result of a project seeded in Collinsville High School's designation as a member of the Illinois Democracy Schools  network.\n\nCHS Democracy Schools Coordinator and Social Studies Department Chair Barbara Lindauer spearheaded the effort to bring students together with local veterans groups to honor members of the community who have served our country.\n\nThe dedication ceremony was planned to coincide this year with 9/11 "Never Forget" public remembrances.\n\nThe event will include remarks from local veterans\, as well as performances from the CHS Band and Kahokapella singers.
